This tented wedding at a private property in Washington was envisioned and executed as a fully custom build, requiring extensive site planning and collaboration long before design began. Working alongside the client’s landscape architects, the event site was carefully developed; from selecting and leveling the tent location to creating access roads for vendors and guest transportation, ultimately resulting in a ceremony overlooking the Virginia mountains, complete with a winding wood path lined in wildflowers. The reception tent featured a welcoming front porch overlooking the property’s pond, styled with a focal bar, sofas, and rocking chairs to encourage guests to linger and take in the view. Inside, a custom floral pattern illustrated by Stephanie Fishwick, inspired by native Virginia wildflowers, was woven throughout the design, appearing in printed ceiling draping and bespoke tableware. The evening concluded with surprise fireworks and late-night fare inspired by Diner B, a nostalgic nod to where the couple first met.
